“Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.”
This thought is reminiscent of the days following an injury, the onset of a disability, the loss of a career, or starting retirement. When our identity was tied up in what we could do, had access to, or influence over. Or the end-of-life reflections on what really matters…what really lasts.
