The issues of violence continue to be a challenge for humanity. We see Christians taking varied positions whether the promotion, justification, or condemnation of violence in general or even specific occurrences. Dan Kimball suggests that should we do the difficult work to make sense of these violent stories that we will have more satisfactory answers even if we don’t have all the answers. Perhaps even how we approach these stories in the Bible informs or is informed by our approach to present-day violence.
